US: Columbia Sportswear hires Finell as general manager Europe

Outdoor apparel and footwear maker Columbia Sportswear Company has hired Christian Finell as its European general manager.

He is due to join the company on 1 December, and will report to Mick McCormick, vice president of sales.

Finell joins Columbia from Salomon SA, where he had a 17-year career and most recently served as head of Salomon EMEA (Europe, Middle-East, and Africa).

He will be based at Columbia's European headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Columbia Sportswear manages a portfolio of outdoor brands including Columbia Sportswear, Montrail, Mountain Hardwear, Pacific Trail, and Sorel.
