Aeon Co Ltd is Japan's second-largest retailer and operates in four business segments including supermarkets, convenience stores and department stores, as well as specialty stores that sell women's apparel, family casual fashion clothing, shoes, and health and beauty products. Aeon has 129 consolidated subsidiaries and 25 associated companies. The company also owns a 55% stake in US apparel retailer Talbots Inc. Under its "glocal" (global+local) strategy, Aeon aims to be the best local retailer in all of its locations by combining world class management systems with merchandise and services that are fine-tuned to local needs and characteristics.
