Private equity company 3i has signed an agreement to acquire luxury brand lingerie retailer Agent Provocateur.

Agent Provocateur is a UK-based retailer of sexy lingerie. The comapny operates in 14 countries including the US. It has recently launched a shoe range and sells accessories too. Subject to acquisition by 3i in November 2007. Founders Joseph Corré and Serena Rees opened the first Agent Provocateur shop in December 1994.
