Youth-oriented apparel chain Abercrombie & Fitch Co on Thursday announced a three per cent slip in July same-store sales but said total monthly sales surged 18 per cent to $126.2 million from $107m in 2001. The Ohio-based operator of 533 stores said in a statement that based on better than expected sales results it now expects to exceed the current First Call EPS estimate of 26 cents for the second quarter.
