Acordis Cellulosic Fibres is closing a viscose factory in the north of England and concentrating production in Germany. The factory - formerly part of Courtaulds - employs nearly 200 people at Grimsby in Lincolnshire. It produces viscose staple fibres for use in the clothing industry. Production will now be centred on Kelheim in Germany, where nearly 75 per cent of the company's viscose is already produced.
