Sportswear giant Adidas is teaming up with Disney to launch a new clothing line for infants and children based around classic Disney characters.

The first range of footwear, apparel and accessories will feature Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck - and will be sold in Adidas Sport Performance Stores and sports retailers globally.

Alongside the classic Adidas 3-Stripes design, details include rubber Mickey Mouse badges on T-shirts and pants, and Mickey Mouse shaped zippers.

Trainers feature 3D designs with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse - and a sole that leaves a Disney-themed Adidas footprint.

"I grew up with Mickey and Minnie and my main goal was to design a standout collection for boys and girls that would be cool and cute at the same time, bringing to life these classic Disney characters," says Adidas designer Rana Babacan.

Pete Brady, category manager, Adidas Kids, adds: "This cooperation is such a great opportunity for two world-leading brands to bring together their expertise and create a totally new fingerprint which combines kids sport, and their love of all things Disney."

The spring/summer 2010 collection will hit stores in December 2009/January 2010, with prices ranging from EUR10 for infant products and from EUR18 for kids' T-shirts.

The two firms are also working on their next collection, which will feature characters from Disney Pixar's Toy Story, timed to coincide with the launch of Toy Story 3 in cinemas worldwide.
