Sportswear giant Adidas has named Elegant Sports its new gymnastics licensee, responsible for growing the Adidas Gymnastics brand worldwide into apparel, footwear and accessories.

"With Elegant Sports we have committed ourselves to a partner that will be 100% focused on the future development of Adidas Gymnastics," explains Frank Maier, director for sales and licensing at Adidas Heartbeat Sports.

"With this partnership we are sure the right time has come to make a major footprint to globally commercialise the product, bringing together technological and marketing competences of both parties in the world of gymnastics."

Adidas Gymnastics will launch a spring/summer 2013 collection in mid-April, which will include training and competition leotards for women. There are also plans to expand the range throughout the year, starting with men's apparel.

The brand has also signed two new athlete sponsorships with Jake Dalton and Jordyn Wieber - both members of the US national team.
