US: Ann Taylor hirings complete divisional team

Ann Taylor Stores Corporation has hired two executives to join the team tasked with modernising the Ann Taylor brand and strengthening its fashion positioning.

Lisa Axelson has been named head designer, and Mary Kay O'Connor-Wente has been named head of stores at the Ann Taylor Stores division.

Axelson joins from Club Monaco, a division of Polo Ralph Lauren, where she was senior vice president of design. She began her career at Gap Inc, working on the Banana Republic and Gap brands for 10 years.

Axelson's first collection with Ann Taylor will debut in the autumn 2009 season.

Mary Kay O'Connor-Wente joins from Express, where she was zone vice president, west. Prior to this she spent 15 years at Victoria's Secret.
 
Ann Taylor Stores operates a total of 959 Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Loft, Ann Taylor Factory, and Loft Outlet stores. 345 of these are Ann Taylor stores.
