SRI LANKA: AOD partners on design with Northumbria University
By Richard Woodard | 21 August 2012
Sri Lanka’s Academy of Design (AOD) is partnering with Northumbria University to offer its design degrees to students in South Asia.
The international design campus is to offer the courses after winning the approval of an independent panel for its faculty qualifications, teaching standards, campus facilities and vision, and now becomes Northumbria’s partner in the South Asian region.
Hailing the move as a “momentous step in establishing Sri Lanka as a regional education hub”, AOD said: “With AOD offering Northumbria’s outstanding degree programmes, there is now a greater opportunity for South Asia to produce globally accepted design professionals to work anywhere in the world.”
