Leading Italian fashion house Giorgio Armani Group SpA on Thursday posted a 9.7 per cent jump in 2002 pre-tax profit to 199 million euros from 182 million euros in the year-ago period on the back of higher sales. Italy's third-biggest fashion firm in sales terms said earnings before interest and taxes climbed 7.2 per cent to 185 million euros from 2001 with consolidated net revenue up 2.3 per cent to 1.3 billion euros, with wholesale revenue growth stronger.
