French couture house Christian Dior has named Delphine Arnault-Gancia, the daughter of chairman Bernard Arnault, as its new deputy managing director.

The move is widely seen as paving the way for her involvement in more top management roles at the family-controlled firm.

As well as working at Dior, which she joined in 2001, Arnault-Gancia also works at two Pucci and Loewe, two other brands owned by LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA, and sits on the luxury group's board.
