BANGLADESH: Raw cotton imports fell 21% in past year

Raw cotton imports into Bangladesh fell by nearly 21% to $2.03bn in fiscal year 2011/12, which ran to the end of June, as the global economic meltdown led to lower orders for apparel, officials said on Saturday (4 August).
