ITALY: Benetton opens temporary children’s wear store

Author: | 9 June 2008

The first temporary store under the United Colors of Benetton banner opened in Milan last week to showcase products for children and mothers.

The store, which will be open for just two months, will launch new features including an exclusive preview of the autumn/winter 2008 collection, a hairstylist for the under-12s, and a personal shopper service.

A touchscreen conversion chart helps customers find the right size, and a 'What's your style?' test allows kids to define their look and find it inside the store.

The temporary store covers 1500 square metres on two floors, and focuses on two main collections: Baby for newborn to 5 years and Kid for 6-12 years.

Before the end of the year, it will be replicated at a permanent location in Milan.

There are over 1,000 United Colors of Benetton (UCB) children's stores around the world. UCB children's sales grew by 15% in 2007, accounting for 30% of the group's total revenues.

Sectors: Apparel, Retail

Companies: Benetton, United Colors of Benetton
