Cologne-based Worldwide Brands Inc, the owner of the Camel clothing trademark, has granted licencing rights for the range to Bielefelder Seidensticker, the German silk and textile group. 

Worldwide Brands holds the licence rights for Camel branded shoes, clothing and watches, and items produced by Bielefelder Seidensticker will form part of the Camel active line.

The agreement between the two companies includes design, production, marketing and sales - which could reach $384.2 million in 2001.

The financial details of the licence deal were not disclosed.
