Leading footwear retail group Brown Shoe Co Inc, owner of the Naturalizer and Famous Footwear chains, on Wednesday announced it swung to a fourth quarter profit on higher sales and reduced costs. The St Louis-based operator of more than 1,300 outlets reported net income of $9.3 million, or 51 cents per share, versus a loss of $28.2m, or $1.63 a share, in the same period a year ago.
