Textiles and clothing firm Caramelo is to take its first steps in the lucrative North American markets as it looks to build on its recent international growth.

The Galicia-based company said it will enter the US and Canadian markets shortly as well as strengthen its market position in Mexico, Chile and Venezuela.

Caramelo, which sold around 1.7 million pieces of clothing last year and generated turnover of $83 million, added it may also boost its presence in Europe and Asia.
