US: Celliant partners with Puma on mineral fibres

By | 20 March 2013

Textile technology specialist Celliant is partnering with sportswear business Puma to incorporate its mineral fibre technology into the German company’s Usain Bolt athletic apparel range.

The technology, designed to help athletes with endurance, uses natural minerals loaded onto polyester fibres to convert body heat into far infrared light (FIR), which is then reabsorbed into tissue and muscle.

“This is an incredible opportunity to expand our technology through a leading brand recognised for performance-engineered apparel and gear,” said Seth Casden, Celliant CEO.

Men’s tops and bottoms using Celliant technology, including zip-up hoodies and shorts, will be available for purchase this spring.
