Ladies' clothing retailer Chico's is expanding its distribution centre in Winder, Georgia, creating 182 new jobs, according to the governor's office.

The expansion, which will also include a new call centre, will come at a cost of US$10.1m.

The move comes as the company grows the direct-to-consumer business for its Chico's, White House/Black Market and Soma by Chico's brands.

Chico's presently employs 211 jobs in Barrow County, where the centre is based.

Chico's recently posted a 44% hike in third-quarter profit, boosted by increased prices and sales growth.
