The Italian children's wear industry saw its turnover rise 3.3 per cent year-on-year to 1.8 billion euros in 2002 on the back of strong foreign orders, official data revealed on Friday. Figures compiled by trade group Sistema Moda Italia (SMI) showed exports rose 4.3 per cent to 584 million euros from the year-ago period but that they shrank 1.2 per cent in the first quarter of this year.
