FRANCE: Christian Dior posts nine-month sales growth

  • Nine-month revenue rise 14% to EUR22.8bn

Christian Dior has posted an increase in nine-month revenue, driven by growth at its fashion and leather goods business. 

The company, allied to luxury goods giant LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, saw revenue rise 14% to EUR22.8bn (US$29.7m) for the nine months to 31 January, compared to EUR19.9bn the prior year. 

Its fashion and leather goods business posted sales of EUR7.64bn, up 10% over EUR6.93bn last year. 

In addition, the Christian Dior Couture division reported a 19% rise in nine-month revenue to reach EUR971m from EUR817m the previous year. Retail sales were up 24%.

Meanwhile, LVMH recorded revenue of EUR21.9bn, up 14% on last year. 

Looking ahead, the group said it is well-equipped to continue its growth momentum across all business divisions in 2013, despite an uncertain economic environment in Europe.
