Clothing prices, which fell by 8.5 per cent during 2000, will recover in 2001 according to a new report released by economic forecasters, Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR). However, CEBR also predict that inflation will stay below the Monetary Policy Committee's target of 2.5 per cent throughout the year and that there will be at least one cut in UK rates, possibly as early as February.
