South Koreans spent an average 250,000 won ($190) on seven sets of clothing in 2001, down 1.6 per cent year-on-year, the Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) revealed on Monday.

According to a national survey, around 10 per cent of that total was spent on underwear and lingerie, with the rest used to buy general clothing such as shirts, socks, T-shirts and jumpers.
