Greece's 212 clothing manufacturing companies generated a total turnover of 389bn Greek drachmas ($1.0bn) in 2000, up 13.7 per cent compared to 1999, according to a study conducted by the Association of Knitwear/Clothing Manufacturers of Northern Greece. The total net profit for 2000 of the companies included in the analysis dropped by 3.9 per cent year-on-year to 22.2bn drachmas ($57.5m). Haji-Ioannou group had the highest turnover of 39.5bn drachmas ($102.3m), followed by Fanco group, Sex Form, Triumph International and Petsas.
