British textile group Coats Viyella Plc said on Friday it was shutting a factory making men's suits for fashion label Jaeger on the west coast of Scotland, with the loss of around 160 jobs. A spokesman for the company, which has been shedding clothing and furnishing units to focus on thread and retail, said it was in talks with the Argyll and Islands Enterprise body to see if an economically viable unit could be created for part of the workforce.
