US: Columbia Sportswear EMEA general manager resigns

Outdoor apparel and footwear firm Columbia Sportswear Company has named Doug Morse as interim general manager of its Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) region following the resignation of Christian Finell.

Finell, who held the position since December 2008, has stepped down to pursue other professional opportunities, the company said.

Morse will lead the group's EMEA go-to-market, sales, and marketing operations until a replacement is found. He most recently served as general manager of Columbia's Canadian operations and has also held various US leadership roles.

"Doug is a valued Columbia veteran who brings a deep understanding of the strategies we are pursuing across our multi-brand platform," said president and CEO Tim Boyle.

Columbia Sportswear Company Introduces New Interim General Manager for Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) Region

Geneva, Switzerland – February 27, 2013 – Columbia Sportswear Company (Nasdaq:COLM), today announced Doug Morse has been named Interim General Manager of the company’s Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) region, effective immediately, replacing Christian Finell, who resigned to pursue other professional opportunities after serving as the company’s EMEA GM since December 2007.

Morse has served as General Manager of Columbia’s Canadian operations since 2008 and is an 18-year veteran of the company, having also served in various U.S. leadership roles. He will lead the company’s EMEA go-to-market, sales, and marketing operations on an interim basis, while facilitating the search for a regional general manager.
