The latest fabric collection from textile manufacturer Global Merino Inc blends merino wool and Creora Eco-Soft elastane to offer warmth without weight for outdoor sportswear.

Developments include a triple plaited construction that uses a combination of merino wool, polyester and Creora Eco-Soft for cyclists that combines warmth, comfort, fit, and movement.

There is also a new mini terry for second-layer warmth without weight plus freedom of movement for applications such as running, skiing and hiking.

"We are using Creora Eco-Soft low heat set elastane to maintain the softness of the merino wool in fabric while delivering stretch and recovery for enhanced comfort and fit," explains Jose Fernandez, CEO of Global Merino.

Creora Eco-Soft, developed by South Korean yarn giant Hyosung, helps maintain a soft hand and good drape when mixed with heat-sensitive fibres, including natural fibres such as cotton, wool and silk as well as cellulosics such as rayon, Modal and Tencel.

The fabrics were on show at last week's Winter Outdoor Retailer 2016 show in Salt Lake City, and will also make an appearance at the upcoming ISPO Munich 2016, taking place from 24-27 January.
