Pam Wallack, the chief executive officer at US retailer David's Bridal, has stepped down from the company after a three-year tenure.

Wallack is to be replaced by Paul Pressler, who will also serve as president of the company. Pressler has previously held president and CEO positions at both Disney and US apparel giant Gap Inc.

A spokesperson for David's Bridal said: "We thank Pam for her leadership and are grateful for the many contributions she brought to the company.

"The priority at David's Bridal is our customer and her bridal journey - our immediate goal is to strengthen her experience with our brand at every turn. [Pressler] brings with him an extensive background in retail and a deep understanding of the brand, our customers and what it will take to continue to make David's Bridal the ultimate destination for brides."

The company has been in operation for more than 60 years and expanded into the UK market with its first store in East London in 2013.
