The British department store chain Debenhams will open more department stores in Denmark via a Norwegian Icelandic company. These will compete directly with Denmark's leading Magasin du Nord. The struggling retailer is up for sale by head shareholder Jyske bank. Magasin recently decided not to open a new store in the up and coming Fields Centre in Ørestad. This is a new area, located near the recently opened bridge that links Denmark and Sweden.
