US: Deckers hires director of CSR

US footwear firm Deckers Outdoor Corporation has announced that Mark Heintz has joined the company as director of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

He will report to the company's chief operating officer, Zohar Ziv.

"As an important addition to our management team, Mark will harness the company's global commitment to corporate responsibility. Deckers has a strong culture with strong values," said Ziv.

"With Mark on board, we will continue to build on our work to promote environmental responsibility, to encourage environmentally friendly technologies and to respect internationally recognised human rights."

Heintz joins Deckers from computer brand Hewlett Packard.
