The Delta Apparel Co has recently settled a product liability and wrongful death lawsuit according to a Securities and Exchange Commission Form 10-Q. The lawsuit alleged that the death of Miss Scelza was caused by her bodysuit and sweatshirt catching fire while she was using a gas range. The lawsuit, filed against Delta Apparel and its sister company Duck Head Apparel, sought $95m plus punitive damages. The company revealed that the settlement has been fully covered by its insurance.
