Department store chain, PT Ramayana Lestari Sentosa, has recorded an 6.8 per cent increase in net profit in the first quarter of the year, despite a dip in sales. Foreign exchange earnings, which rose sevenfold, have been pinpointed as the reason for the increase. Sales fell by nine per cent to Rp 414.08bn, from Rp 453.53bn and operating costs rose by 15.7 per cent to Rp 81.01bn from Rp 70.1 per cent.
