Author: | 1 February 2010

Disney has unveiled a series of clothing, crystal and jewellery collaborations to coincide with the imminent release of its new film, Alice in Wonderland.

The partnerships include jewellery designer Tom Binns, fashion designer Sue Wong and cut crystal producer Swarovski, whose apparel and accessories have teamed with Disney Consumer Products (DCP) in a series of window displays at the Bloomingdale's 59th Street store in New York.

The Bloomingdale's displays will feature props from the film - due for US release on 5 March as well as items from Sue Wong for Walt Disney Signature dresses and Tom Binns' Walt Disney Signature jewellery.

There will also be costumes and props from the Alice in Wonderland film in Bloomingdale's second floor contemporary sportswear department.

The retailer will complement its displays with special signage and video screens playing behind-the-scenes footage and bonus material in both York and seven other stores across the US.

"The arresting settings and characters in Tim Burton's interpretation of Alice In Wonderland provided great inspiration and have made it possible for us to work with this renowned group of designers," said DCP executive vice president Pam Lifford.

"Our collaboration with Bloomingdale's brings it all together in a way that is fun and interesting for consumers and Disney fans alike."

News of the tie-up follows Disney's partnership with sportswear giant Adidas at the end of last year to launch a new clothing range for infants and children, based around Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

The Alice in Wonderland collections will launch in retail from February.
