GLOBAL: Economic slowdown stalls fibre shortfall

A lot of coverage has been given to the impact of rising cotton prices and supply shortages on the apparel industry - but what about other fibres? A new report suggests that without lower demand for textiles and apparel during the recession, the industry would be looking at a global fibre shortfall of between 15m and 19m tonnes.
