HONG KONG: Ever-Glory to list on American Stock Exchange

Chinese apparel maker Ever-Glory International Group Inc is to list its common shares on the American Stock Exchange (AMEX).

The stock is expected to begin trading on 16 July under the symbol "EVK."

"This listing is expected to provide us with increased liquidity and access to a much broader investor base," Mr Yihua Kang, the company's chairman and chief executive officer.

"We also believe it will better position us to execute our future growth strategies."

Ever-Glory is a supplier to well-known garment retail chains in countries including China, Japan, Europe and the US.

It has also partnered with local retailer La Chapelle to launch its own brand of ladies' garments in China.

The company's US headquarters is based in Los Angeles, California.
