Greek apparel chain Vardas on Tuesday posted a 22 per cent year-on-year climb in first quarter pre-tax profit to 740,000 euros on the back of a 20 per cent jump in sales to 8.9 million euros.

The company sells the Harmont & Blaine menswear brand said it plans to add more global brands having doubled it store network to 33 outlets from 17 in 2001.
