Linda LoRe has been promoted to president of intimate apparel firm Frederick's of Hollywood Group, a post she will hold alongside her role as chief executive officer of the Frederick's of Hollywood retail division.

Additional responsibilities will include merchandising, marketing and product development activities of the combined company.

Ms LoRe has served as president and CEO of the retail division since July 1999 and was president and CEO of Giorgio Beverly Hills from 1991 to 1999.

The change follows the merger between Frederick's of Hollywood and Movie Star last January and is part of ongoing efforts to "capitalise upon the synergies created from the merger."

The company has moved Melvyn Knigin from his position as president and chief executive officer of the Movie Star wholesale division to senior vice president of sales.

Frederick's of Hollywood operates more than 130 specialty retail stores and also markets intimate apparel to retailers throughout the US and Canada.
