French Fashion Day will showcase nine contract-clothing manufacturers from France |
French luxury clothing manufacturers who produce for Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent are heading to London next month in a bid to develop links with British designers.
French Fashion Day, being organised by the French Trade Commission UbiFrance, will take place on 18 April at Le Méridien Piccadilly Hotel, London.
The event will showcase nine contract-clothing manufacturers from France who produce prêt-à-porter and couture collections for French and international designers.
Companies taking part specialising in lingerie and accessories include GETEX, ETS THIERRY and Distribution Production Logistique, PR3 SAS, SOCOVET and GRANDIS.
"We are confident that these meetings will prove beneficial for both parties [British designers and luxury outlets, as well as French contract-clothing manufacturers] and will generate some positive business partnerships, as has been the case in the past," said Roselyne Fitzgerald, senior trade development adviser at UbiFrance in London. "Indeed, it is the seventh year that the event is being held."
