By | 12 June 2008

G-III Apparel Group has signed the Andrew Marc brand's first licensing deal with footwear company the Camuto Group.

Camuto has signed up until 31 January 2013 to design, market and distribute women's footwear under the Andrew Marc and Marc New York brand names.

Distribution is expected to begin in autumn next year.

Camuto Group CEO Vince Camuto said Andrew Marc was "the perfect complement" to the company's existing brands.

"We believe that the contemporary aesthetic and high-fashion identity of these brands can quickly and decisively transcend their roots from the outerwear market," added Morris Goldfarb, G-III chairman and CEO.

Clothing maker G-III bought outerwear and accessories brand Andrew Marc in February in a deal worth US$42m.

Sectors: Apparel, Footwear

Companies: Camuto, G-III Apparel
