US: Gary Simmons adds CEO title at Gerber Childrenswear

Gary Simmons, president of Gerber Childrenswear, has added the title of chief executive officer of the Kellwood Co unit.

Simmons joined Gerber as president in March 2005 after serving as president and CEO of VF Playwear and president of its Healthtex division. He has had more than 30 years of experience in the children's apparel industry.

He continues to report to W Lee Capps III, chief operating and financial officer of Kellwood. Capps said that Simmons "continues to develop strong, strategic partnerships within the industry to open new revenue opportunities and maximise bottom-line results for the division."

Simmons continues to be based in New York. Kellwood's headquarters are in St Louis, Missouri.
