Footwear retailer Genesco Inc on Wednesday posted a sharp rise in third quarter net income to $10.1 million from $8m in the year-ago period on the back of a 15 per cent jump in sales to $213m from $186m. The Tennessee-based chain, whose shoes are sold in more than 960 retail stores under the names Journeys, Journeys Kidz, Johnston & Murphy, Jarman and Underground Station, said it was delighted with its performance.
