The Anti-Counterfeiting Group has welcomed new moves to introduce tougher legislation to crackdown on the multi-million pound fake designer goods trade. It is estimated that the UK's clothing and footwear industry loses up to a £1bn ($1.457bn) a year in revenue due to counterfeiters. Now the Government is looking at enforcing tougher penalties for those who flout the law by trading in poor quality rip-offs.
