USA: Guidance Renews Deal With Footlocker.com
This agreement marks the continuation of a 3-year relationship in which Guidance successfully led Venator into the world of e-commerce, helping the athletic retailer become one of the top online retailers of athletic footwear and apparel. Footlocker.com sites, including Eastbay and Champs, grossed $12 million in sales in 1999 and are tracking toward sales of $40 million in 2000.
Using a new platform of servers and new application architecture, Guidance will create the third generation of Websites, capable of handling Footlocker.com's explosive sales growth.
"Venator's success is a perfect example of our unique ability to help our partners transform their business by using the Internet to leverage existing assets in new ways," said Guidance CEO Robert Landes. "This next level of commitment to their sites shows their belief in the workability of the `bricks to clicks' model."
"Guidance helped boost our business by launching us onto the Internet," said Footlocker.com chief operating officer Richard A. Johnson. "We're turning to Guidance once again for their expertise and experience to enhance our sites and further increase our online commerce."
