Austrian sports equipment maker Head Holding GMBH reported a net loss for the first half of 2001 of $4.2m compared with a net loss of $9m in the same period in 2000 Dow Jones International News reported. It also said its first half pre-tax loss narrowed to $2.3m from $7.1m in the previous year. Johan Eliasch, chief executive of Head, said he expects full year sales measured in local currency to be slightly higher than 2000 and operating income, excluding restructuring costs, to be in line with 2000 figures.
