SWEDEN: H&M bolsters sales 7% in October

Swedish fashion retailer H&M said its sales in local currencies including VAT increased by 7% during October, compared to the same month last year.
Sales in Scandinavia, Central Europe and Asia were "very satisfactory" during the month, the company said.
H&M said that markets including France, Spain and the US posted weak sales due to the continued recession.
Same-store sales - for stores, Internet and catalogue sales that have been in operation for at least a financial year - dropped 3%.
H&M's total store count amounted to 1,925 on 31 October 2009, compared to 1,702 at the same time last year.
