SWEDEN: H&M posts 19% April sales growth

Swedish clothing firm H&M has boosted sales by 19% during the month of April, compared to the same month last year.

Sales at stores that have been in operation for at least a year rose 8% during the month.

It is the first time H&M's same-store sales have risen since July, helped by a famed new spring collection created by British guest designer Matthew Williamson.

H&M operated 1,804 stores at the end of April 2009 versus 1,560 a year earlier.
