Swedish fashion giant Hennes & Mauritz AB on Monday posted a 14 per cent year-on-year jump in November group sales.

The company - one of the world's largest fashion retailers by market capitalisation - said in a statement on its website group sales for the full year ended November 30 also rose 14 per cent.

The operator of more than 840 stores with 34,000 workers does not provide actual monthly sales figures but said sales were strong in the UK, Spain and France and continued to rise in the US, but were soft in Austria, Switzerland and parts of Germany.

It attributed the latter on unseasonal weather which has seen clothing retailers across Europe struggling to shift cold-weather apparel.
