Leading UK department store group House of Fraser today posted a 44 per cent climb in annual profits and said its figures were boosted by a surge in demand for its fashion sales amid a huge refurbishment programme.. The group revealed its pre-tax profit before exceptionals rose £25.6 million from £17.8m in the year-ago period, while turnover climbed almost 13 per cent to £956.7m and fashion sales 14.2 per cent.
