Britain's third-largest department store chain House of Fraser on Tuesday reported a steep climb in first half losses but said it is confident of a successful full year due to the completion of its massive store refurbishment programme. The group, which owns banners including Rackhams, Army & Navy and Dickens & Jones, posted a pre-tax loss of £2.7 million compared to a loss of £1.5m in the year-ago period but remained upbeat.
