Casual denim and sportswear maker IC Isaacs & Company Inc on Thursday named Nicholas Gamarello as senior vice president of men's design and Dena Bickerstaffe has as women's design director.

The New York-based company, which designs and markets the Marithe & Francois Girbaud line, said the appointments would be key to building to build the brand in North America.

Mr Gamarello has over 20 years in the design field. He served as vice president, fashion director and international licensor for Stetson World Licensing, vice president and fashion director for Components By John McCoy and a fashion design director for Polo Ralph Lauren.

Ms Bickerstaffe brings over ten years of experience in the women's design business at Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica Jeans Europe and Earl Jeans, where she was head of women's design.

Peter Rizzo, chairman and CEO of IC Isaacs, said the company has also appointed several "product category designers to provide better technical attention to detail and to ensure we maintain consistent product quality."
