Spanish fashion giant Inditex has opened its first store in Costa Rica under the Zara name.

The store, which is located in the country's capital San José, was opened in conjunction with Grupo Simán, a distribution company from El Salvador. Grupo Simán also franchises the Zara chain in El Salvador.

With this opening, Inditex will now have a presence in 12 countries of the Americas, as well as its store chains in Europe,  Asia, the Middle East and north  Africa.

Inditex plans to open 300-360 new stores this year, 100-110 of which will be Zara outlets.
